  • If IVA fails there is a risk of bankruptcy and lenders can chase for the debt. Any frozen interest can be re applied.
  • Homeowners may need to release equity and a remortgage may attract higher interest rates, if no remortgage is available, the IVA may be extended for 12 months.
  • Expenditure is restricted.

What is an Individual Voluntary Arrangement?

An IVA is a legally binding agreement between you and your creditors that is designed to help people who are struggling with debts.

An Individual Voluntary Arrangement normally runs for a fixed period of 60 months with you making one affordable monthly payment to the Insolvency Practitioner who will manage your case and deal with all your creditors stopping unwanted and intimidating calls and letters.

IVA’s are not available to Scottish residents, please see trust deed page.
